Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 22, 2026
Who we are
Eyes Off SLO (https://eyesoffslo.com) is an independent community advocacy campaign working to end Flock Safety surveillance contracts in San Luis Obispo County, California. We are not affiliated with any government agency, political party, or commercial organization.
What we collect
We collect only what you voluntarily provide through our forms:
- Email signup — email address and optional zip code for campaign updates and to understand which areas of the county supporters are in.
- Petition — full name, email, city, five-digit California zip code, optional selection of a specific agency or contract you are concerned about, and your affirmation that the information is accurate and that you reside in San Luis Obispo County. If you check the box, we also use your email and zip to add you to the same mailing list as the email signup form.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent any of this information.
Petition anonymity on this site: Individual petition signers' names, cities, and zip codes are not published on this website or displayed publicly here. We use petition data to reflect unique resident signers and to present signatures to officials as part of the campaign (for example, aggregated counts or submission packets), consistent with the purpose stated on the petition page.
How we use it
Email list: We use your email (and optional zip from signup) solely to send updates related to the Eyes Off SLO campaign, including:
- Notices about upcoming public meetings and comment deadlines
- Updates when agency contracts come up for renewal
- Calls to action when your voice is needed most
Petition: We use petition submissions to document resident support from unique people in the county and to deliver signatures to decision-makers as part of advocacy. Your email is stored with your petition; we send campaign updates to that address only if you opted in to the mailing list.
We will never use your information for any commercial purpose, send unrelated political communications, or contact you outside the scope of this campaign.
Data storage and security
Submitted data is stored in a secured database provided by Supabase, hosted in the United States. Access is restricted and the data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties, advertisers, law enforcement, or any other organization.
This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server access logs (IP address, browser, page requested) as part of normal infrastructure operation. We do not use this data for tracking or profiling.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics, or behavioral tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar service.
Your browser may store a small local preference (to remember that you dismissed our signup prompt). This data never leaves your device.
Data retention
We retain email signup data and petition signatures for the duration of the campaign and as needed to support advocacy to local officials. When the campaign concludes, subscriber records and petition records stored in our database will be permanently deleted according to the same schedule, unless a longer retention is required by law (we do not anticipate that for this volunteer-led effort). You may request deletion of your data at any time (see below).
Your rights
You may request that your data be deleted at any time. To do so, reach out to the campaign through any of the public channels listed on this site and include the email address you used for signup or on the petition. We will remove matching subscriber and petition records promptly where we can identify them.
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Given the limited scope of data we collect and our status as a non-commercial advocacy campaign, we do not believe CCPA thresholds apply — but we will honor any deletion or access request regardless.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the campaign evolves. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
